Have A Holly Raleigh Christmas - Local musicians help creat Raleigh NC Christmas CD

Sir Walter Records and the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association have teamed up again to release the second annual “Have a Holly Raleigh Christmas” CD. Proceeds from CD sales will benefit Community Music School (CMS), a local organization that provides music lessons for low-income children.

Community Music School gives children with limited means the opportunity to experience music education. CMS charges students only $1 per music lesson, so they rely heavily on contributions and support from the community to sustain their programs. Since 1994, CMS has helped more than 1,000 students in Wake County with hopes of enhancing their lives through music. The school offers programs ranging from private lessons for students with disabilities to independent studies that aid students with college auditions or preparation for a possible music career. “Have a Holly Raleigh Christmas” CD has not only the goal of supporting music education for youth but also raising awareness of the talented professional musicians right here in the Triangle. The CD features original holiday tunes, as well as some old favorites, recorded by local bands and singer/songwriters.

		Thurs, Nov 15	Cameron Village Holiday Open House : 5-8pm Don’t miss Nixon, Blevins & Gage performing live at the Cameron Village Holiday Open House. They’ll perform a variety of their original music, including “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem” from the benefit CD. This will be a night filled with magic, music and laughter for the whole family!
		Sat, Nov 24	Capital Holiday Arts Celebration : 2pm Join us for the Capital Holiday Arts Celebration beginning at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 24, 2007 on the Lichtin Plaza at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts. Come see performances by several of the Triangle’s favorite performing arts groups, browse the holiday arts shopping village, and enjoy activities for children of all ages. This fun-filled afternoon will culminate at dusk with the unveiling of a dazzling visual light display by Tobey Archer on Lichtin Plaza.
